Real estate in South Calgary reflects 50 years of development, containing a variety of housing styles. For a community that was somewhat overlooked in the past, South Calgary is now experiencing increased recognition due to the recent redevelopment here. The trendy shopping district of Marda Loop has added to the area's popularity with its unique shops and restaurants.
Condos in South Calgary
Older homes are giving way to new higher density condos. The south part of the community consists mainly of single family homes with the exception of a few newer complexes in Marda Loop.
The north part of the community has most of the apartments and condos with many conversions in recent years and many more slated for future development.

The Centennial Arenas, offering indoor hockey and curling, are available in the neighbouring Altadore. The Glenmore Athletic Park is just minutes away, on the south side of 50th Avenue.
Residents of South Calgary homes also benefit from a library, community centre and various daycare facilities.
